D arjeeling , a town in the Indian state of West Bengal is not only famous for producing the best quality of tea on earth but also a popular tourist destination on earth. It is located in the Mahabharat Range or Lesser Himalaya at an average elevation of 6,710 ft (2,045.2 m). It is noted for its tea industry and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Darjeeling is the headquarters of Darjeeling district which has a partially autonomous status within the state of West Bengal. Darjeeling is the main town of the Sadar subdivision and also the headquarters of the district. It is located  in the Darjeeling Himalayan hill region on the Darjeeling-Jalapahar range that originates in the south from Ghum ,the highest railway station on earth. The range is Y-shaped with the base resting at Katapahar and Jalapahar and two arms diverging north of the Observatory Hill. Poverty in  India  is spreading  widely ,  the nation estimated to have a 3rd of the world's  poor . In 2010, the World Bank reported that 32.7% of the total  Indian . According to a 2011 poverty Development Goals Report, as many  millions of  people in India  expected to come out of extreme poverty in the next four years, while India's poverty rate is projected to drop to 22% in 2015.  The report also indicates that in Southern Asia, however, only India, where the poverty rate is projected to fall from 51% in 1990 to about 22% in 2015, is on track to cut poverty by half by the 2015 target date. According to the latest UNICEF data , one in three malnourished children worldwide are found in India, whilst 42% of the nation's children under five years of age are underweight. Shibpur is a small village under Nakashipara Block , Dist. Nadia , West Bengal , India.One of the specialty of this village is it is surrounded by river Jalangi in three sides. Like other villages in India this one is also based on agricultural activities. The Boat Race ( Nouka Baich) on the day of Durga Dashami during  the Immersion of  the Idol of Goddess Durga in the river  Jalangi  is one of the popular festivals of the village.People of various age groups of surrounding villages gather beside the river or ride on the boats during these hours  on the Jalangi with joy. People enjoy this festival from many years & wait for a year to enjoy the day. Various clubs , organisations join the celebration with their Idols for immersion on Dashomi .
